Guidance Department News for Seniors

Dear Seniors and Senior Parents:,
Mr. Guilbeau, our High School Guidance Counselor, has visited all of the students in 12th grade. During his visit he gave each student in 12th grade their 7 semester high school transcript. This transcript gives the GPA and RANKING for the student as of January 2025. This is a temporary ranking as it can change once the final grades are in at graduation. The GPA and Ranking will not change until the end of the school year in May 2025 when the student has completed the courses they are currently taking. The senior 7 semester transcript will factor in the semester 1 averages and calculates the student’s GPA and Ranking at this time. Many colleges will use this 7 semester GPA for admissions and scholarships.

Please keep the transcript handy for scholarship applications this spring and until the final transcript is issued after graduation. This can also be used for insurance purposes and college applications.

Updated TOPS information was distributed to seniors when Mr. Guilbeau met with them in the fall of 2024. The curriculum required for TOPS, the GPA required for TOPS, and the ACT scores necessary to receive TOPS, can be found in the materials distributed. The TOPS portal is open for students to apply. Please see documentation sent to the students and parents earlier in the Fall and shared on the student’s Google Classroom. Seniors in high school should be aware of what is required to enroll in the university they are interested in attending. Universities post their enrollment requirements on-line in their admissions information tab.

Please contact Mr. Guilbeau for any questions. His email is josh.guilbeau@chspanthers.com.
