9th, 10th & 11th graders:  Are you interested in a career in Healthcare?

Applications are now available for the 2026 AHEC of a Summer Program. This summer program offers high school students, who are interested in a health career, the chance to experience career opportunities by taking part in volunteer work at local health care facilities. 

Some of the activities students participate in include:

• Go behind the scenes in hospitals and other clinical facilities
• Learn about current health issues
• Hands on patient care
• Explore career opportunities
• Learn about post-secondary education requirements for various health professions
• And MUCH MORE!

Participants must commit to a two or three week time span during the summer and can earn 1/2 credit toward their Louisiana high school diploma upon successful completion of the program.
