Pastoral Care

We are proud to announce that we now have Pastoral Care Services here at Catholic High. We believe that having more of a clerical presence on campus will help promote a stronger Catholic Identity at our school. Fr. William Blanda, Fr. Matthew Hebert and Fr. Nathan Comeaux are all on campus at least once a week and Deacon Keith Duhon is on campus every day.

Pastoral care in education means a whole-school approach to improve the spiritual life of our students which can really have a tremendous effect on all aspects of a student’s experience on campus. Our Pastoral Care Department strives to promote an atmosphere that is conducive for learning and promotes resilience, fairness and equal opportunities for all. This is done by applying Traditional Catholic principles and offering opportunities for individuals to grow in their Sacramental life. Opportunities are offered on a scheduled basis with Thursday morning Holy Mass, Priests available on Thursday mornings for confessions, first Friday Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Spiritual direction offered several times during the week by appointment. Such an approach to pastoral care should help to eliminate some issues that may arise such as racism, inequality, discrimination, bullying and other hindrances to learning, striving to create an environment that promotes academic achievement and faith filled Catholic students. Therefore, effective pastoral care can improve students’ attendance and retention rates; foster an atmosphere where all students can access opportunities, and enhance their spiritual and academic growth.
