Message From the Principal, May 30, 2022

Dear Parents, Grandparents, Stakeholders, and Friends,

As we prepare for the close of another academic year, I am reflective of how far we have come over the last year and all of the successes that your children and grandchildren have accomplished. This would have not been possible without your care and support as well as the work and commitment of our faculty and staff to Catholic education.

I would be remiss if I did not take this opportunity to thank and extend a debt of gratitude to two members of our school’s leadership who will be moving forward with their vocations to another diocesan school: Mrs. Erin Henry, 25 years, and Mrs. Katie Hidalgo, 6 years total.  Following are their farewell messages and well wishes:

Mrs. Henry shares:
“As I prepared to read the names of our graduates of the Class of 2022, I reflected on the fact that 30 years ago I believed I was attending my last Catholic High graduation. In reality, it was just a short break. My passion for education drew me to the classroom, and God drew me back to Catholic High. Over the last 25 years, I have had the honor of serving as classroom teacher, technology and communications director, and administrator at a school I love. I have worked with amazing faculty and staff, been entrusted with phenomenal students, and met some wonderfully supportive parents. Catholic High, and the people who make it such a special place, will remain in my thoughts and prayers as I continue on to my new venture.”

Mrs. Katie Hidalgo shares:
“The energy and tenacity that our students, teachers, and community has shown in their Faith and love for the school as the years progress is evident of the values of this  institution. While we, as a school community, continue to challenge ourselves to break thresholds in many areas, navigate the mandates and adaptations the last few years, and flourish as a family is what Catholic High is all about.  The continued belief in the magic that flows through Catholic High’s hallways remains to be a feeling that is deeply rooted, but always shines brighter as the years go on! I have been blessed to be a part of this love and energy the last few years. I am blessed to have been a part of the smiles, laughs, and memories of the students as well as the families that have entrusted me to become part of their family.”

As I reflect on the past seven years I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Catholic High family in the role of an administrator. I have been blessed by the trust and respect of so many of you as I have had the chance to have an impact on the daily lives of your children. It has been my pleasure to get to know each one of your children by name and to be witness to their innate goodness and natural God-given gifts and talents.

While I am moving on to the next part of my journey in God’s master plan, please know that my belief in the ministry of Catholic education and the mission and vision of Catholic High School remains strong. I look forward to my continued roles as a parent and alumni.  May God continue to bless us all as we pray and work to be a community that reflects the love, justice, and peace of God's Kingdom.

Thank you for your continued support of the vision and mission of Catholic High founded in the wisdoms and traditions of the Christian Brothers and Sisters of Mt. Carmel.  I pray everyone has a blessed and restful summer.

In Christ,

Stella J. Arabie, Ed.D.
